Hi, My name is Ally. I am helping raise money for my sister-in-law's family. Lauren and Charlie Cauffman have a beautiful set of twin girls (Amelia & Aurora). They just celebrated their 4th birthday on January 28th. They went to their 4 year old check up on January 31st. Amelia Cauffman had a slightly larger belly than her sister. However she weighed less than Aurora. The pediatrician continued to do the check up with some concerns and ordered an immediate ultrasound of Amelia’s stomach. They found a tumor on her kidney. The pediatrician immediately had Charlie and Lauren take Amelia to John's Hopkins Medical Hospital. After a CT scan they believed Amelia had a Wilm's Tumor. On February 2nd, Amelia went through an 8 hour surgery to remove the tumor and her kidney. The tumor measured 14 centers. On February 13th Hopkins discovered the tumor was Stage 3 Clear Cell Sarcoma of the Kidney. The Hopkins team met with Charlie and Lauren to develop a plan for radiation and chemotherapy and at that time Amelia was admitted back into inpatient due to Clear Cell Sarcoma manifesting in the brain and bones. She was sedated and went through at PET scan and MRI of her brain (results still pending). The radiation plan is 12 continuous days where she must be sedated each time. She will also have 28 weeks of chemotherapy. Chemo in 3 week sets. The first week of each set will be daily 3 or 5 days in a row and once a week on the 2nd and 3rd week. Amelia will start Radiation and Chemotherapy on Monday February 20th where she will be readmitted to keep an eye on her chemotherapy and radiation symptoms.

During all of this Amelia’s twin sister has had to stay with her grandparents. Amelia and Aurora have never been apart in all four years so they are having a really hard time dealing with being separated. Aurora understands that Amelia is sick but neither of them fully understand the idea of it being cancer. The parents are doing what they can to help them understand and be there for both of their girls.

Costs are rising quickly with all the hospital bills, gas traveling home and back (1.5 hrs each way), and food. If we can help ease their burden and stress just a little bit on the financial side so they can concentrate on helping their daughter feel better then it would be greatly appreciated. Donations will go towards medical, food, and gas costs.

As test results come in and updates in Amelia’s progress one in I will add them to this page.
Thank you for any contributions. If you are unable to donate then please just share this link and that will help just as much.
