Hello, my name is Jamie Meyer. I’m newly graduated from high school and I have been playing pedal harp for the last 3 years of my life, even getting into All State for my skills. In high school, I was in the Illinois Music Honor Society, alongside the National Honor Society. I put much time and commitment into my community in regards to volunteering for music and other community-related events. As of now, I’m just looking to see if my community can help me out a bit.

Right now, I am working two jobs and trying to save money for a car. I plan on going to community college for music and I want to join my local orchestra. However, the cost of everything is making life difficult. I really didn’t want to pressure anyone to help me because I like to be independent, but I think I’d like to reach out to my community this time for some support, encouragement, or even a bit of help. I am hoping my community can help me by sparing a few bits of change for a pedal harp.

The local community college I am trying to go to is working effortlessly to find me a pedal harp to play, but I also know if I can raise money for my own harp that could greatly relieve the stress off their shoulders. If I could afford my own harp, I would buy one in an instant. I know how expensive this fundraiser looks, but even if you can spare a few cents, anything can help and I will be greatly appreciative of anything given. However, these instruments cost lots of time and money. I don’t expect people to give me money, but any amount would still be a great help.
