On May 30, 2025, our beloved community member Gina Rodriguez was in a horrific car accident on her way to work at 2 a.m. A reckless driver ran the red light and struck her vehicle. The driver was underinsured, leaving Gina’s family with overwhelming medical expenses and turning a terrible crash into a financial nightmare.
Gina suffered severe injuries, including facial fractures on the right side of her face, significant vision loss in her left eye despite cataract surgery, and a fractured right arm that required major repairs with a metal plate and screws. She is still living with nerve damage. For the past nine months, Gina has endured intense, painful rehabilitation and is finally regaining some function—but the journey has been exhausting. Through it all, her quiet strength and determination have inspired everyone who knows her.
Gina is a devoted mom to her two sons Adrian (8th grade) and Janko (5th grade) and she and her husband have always worked hard to provide for their family. After months of unable to work, Gina has now been cleared to return to her job, but she doesn’t have a reliable car to get there.
Without transportation, she can’t work, and the family has fallen behind on rent, utilities, groceries, and other essentials due to uncovered medical costs and lost income. They are doing everything they can, but they’re struggling deeply.
We’re raising money to help Gina purchase a safe, dependable used car so she can get back to work, support her children, and keep her family from sinking further. Any additional funds will go directly toward their most urgent bills.
Even a small donation—$5, $10, or $20—makes a real difference. If you can’t give right now, please consider sharing. Every share helps us reach someone who can.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Every dollar brings Gina closer to getting back on the road and reclaiming the life she’s working so hard to rebuild.
With deep gratitude,
Lizette Blackwell, Gloria Ortiz, Michelle Seneff
(and everyone who loves Gina!)
