Coach Raul is only 20 years old—but he’s already changed the lives of so many kids in our community.

He started coaching soccer at just 15 years old because his younger brother wanted to play soccer. What began as a few kids in the neighborhood has turned into a real team—with 5 practice days a week, games, and even championship runs, making it to the finals for the last 4 years.

But what makes Raul special isn’t just soccer.

It’s who he is; who his family is.

Raul and his family show up every single day for these kids—no matter what’s going on in their own life. Raul personally spends his own paycheck on equipment for the team. He pays for fields for practices and games. You’re probably thinking- well he gets paid to coach. No…many of the players can’t afford to pay. Raul and his family feel every child deserves the opportunity to play soccer regardless of ability to pay. To Coach Raul, this isn’t just a team, it’s about helping kids realize a dream they may otherwise never have the opportunity to obtain, always making everyone feel like family.

But right now, his real family is struggling. Last month, they were on the verge of being evicted.

Their car, that they picked up many of the kids who don’t have a ride to games or practices, is broken down beyond repair.

Yet, through all of this… Raul hasn’t stopped showing up.

He’s still coaching.

Still giving.

Still putting others first.

His sister coaches with him. His parents are at every game cheering the team on.

That’s why we want to do something for them.

We want to surprise Raul and his family with a reliable used car—something that will take just a little weight off their shoulders so they can get to work, get to practices, and keep pouring into this community the way they always have.

We have a connection at a dealership who is willing to help us find a safe, affordable vehicle, along with a technician who will make sure the car is in solid condition.

Now we just need help making it happen. This is a chance to give back to a family who has cared so much about their community.
