My name is Nate Lopes and I want to give a deserving young woman the chance to have a better life.

I’m asking for help for an incredible young woman who has overcome more in her first years of life than most people could ever imagine.

From a young age, Christel experienced unimaginable hardship, trauma, and instability. Through circumstances no child should ever have to face, she spent years navigating the foster care system, group homes, and difficult situations that could have broken her spirit. But instead, she fought. She kept going. She chose a different path.

Despite everything she has been through, Christel has shown incredible strength, determination, and resilience. She graduated high school early, accelerated her education at a 4 year college, and is now preparing to begin a nursing program — a career built around caring for and helping others. Christel has consistently been handed life’s hardest challenges but continues to excel despite her hardships. Even working enough during her Freshmen year at college to earn enough credits to start her second year as a junior. I can confidently say that most privileged young adults don’t take their education or future as seriously as Christel.

As she enters this next chapter, one of the biggest barriers standing in her way is reliable transportation. Nursing school requires traveling to classes, clinicals, and hospital rotations, often at early hours and in different locations. Having a dependable vehicle would give her the independence and stability she needs to continue pursuing her dream.

This young woman has spent so much of her life having to fight for herself. Now, we have an opportunity to stand beside her and help make this next step a little easier.
