Hi friends and family. On Tuesday last week I was involved in an accident that resulted in my car being totaled. This is a devastating loss, as we are currently a single-income household. It is essential that I find a reliable replacement vehicle so I can get to and from work every day.
The good news: No one was injured.
The bad news: Insurance's settlement amount is nowhere near enough to cover a replacement vehicle.
While we are still waiting on the exact amount they will give us, the estimated cost to repair is just over $5,100, which they say exceeds the value of the car. So we know they will be settling for less than this. I will post an update once I have been able to speak to someone and get an exact amount.
I come into this GoFundMe campaign as a last resort, seeing no other way to resolve this current situation. Kyle estimates it will take about $4,000 more to find a used vehicle even remotely reliable.
