A car for Adrienne

I've known Adrienne and her family since shortly after her birth in 1992, and have served as her unofficial godfather as she has grown into a exceptionally competent and warm-hearted young woman.  Most recently she has been living in Essex with her eight-year-old son and working as a Medical Office Coordinator in a local hospital, helping patients with their appointments and helping physicians with the protocols of the hospital's IT system.
Early last fall, however, during the pandemic but unrelated to it, two of her close relatives--a cousin in his forties and her 33-year-old brother--got deathly ill and died within weeks of each other.  Of her extended West Baltimore family, Adrienne is the go-to person in emergencies, so she immediately found herself as spokesperson dealing with hospital staff and, later, with ministers and  funeral directors.   It was particularly grim in the case of her brother, who was kept alive for weeks with the help of blood-filtering machinery, until it became clear that he couldn't live without the machines, and the family--chiefly Adrienne and her mother--had to decide when enough was enough.  All this took a terrible toll on Adrienne.  She took medical leave, and has still not gone back to full-time hospital work.
To add to her distress, since late December, her car--a CarMax Hyundai she bought two years ago--has been overheating dangerously, forcing her to abandon it on the roadside again and again, and arrange for its towing, etc.  The car is still unrepaired, three months after its initial problems.  And Adrienne is paying for taxis and Uber or Lyft to get herself around and get her son to daycare.  Being able to purchase another used car would relieve Adrienne of an enormous burden.
Adrienne hasn't had an easy life.  Another brother died in his bed, years ago, when she was still a little girl.  And the father of her son was gunned down just a few years ago.  I myself am in my late eighties and would like to see Adrienne happily established before I'm too gaga to take it in!  I shall be very grateful for any help readers of these lines can come up with.  My wife and I are prepared to match contributions.
