A Car for a Brave Mom and Her Girls
Donation protected
Hi, Ginger Murray here. A few months ago, a mama of 2 who I was acquainted with for the past 6 years, reached out to me, to ask if I knew of any resources to help with finding/getting a reliable car. Not too long before that, it had broken down, leaving her, and her daughter, stranded for awhile. It was temporarily fixed. Some of you may have seen me post on FB, looking for resources for her. A few charities were recommended that would fix the car she had, but unfortunately, the car was far past that point, and had too many issues. Now, due to a number of unfortunate circumstances, one being an act of violence, this mama is now without a vehicle(it has completely broken down now) and she has an injury that prevents her from being able to get a job at the moment. She is now in a safe space, but being without a vehicle makes all of the things she needs to do extremely difficult, often relying on other people to get her to the many places she needs to go, in order to get back on her feet. She has two of the sweetest little girls (I have met them multiple times, and I get teary thinking about how much I adore them).
I've talked with her about a GoFundMe for a car. She has saved up $1000 to put towards one, but I would like to create this fundraiser for her, and her girls, to be able to have a few safer vehicle options (and the $1000 vehicles on Marketplace and Craigslist seem to disappear in a heartbeat). All of the money collected will go to her, and will first be allotted to a vehicle, then if there is anything left, to help cover insurance (she is able to secure a low rate), and then to any other living expenses that she needs.
Throughout the past month, she has been through so many emotions, and setbacks, and has an overwhelming list of pressing things to get done, to move toward a stable life. She received some really wonderful news this week, which brought her a glimmer of hope.
She is one of the strongest people I have ever met. I would like to start this fundraiser for her, so that she has one less thing to worry about, and can go to all the necessary appts and errands. She has been nothing but grateful for the help.
For her safety, I haven't listed her name here, and drew this photo;) She'll have to ask her kids what they think of my drawing skills.
If you have questions, *please* feel free to message me on FB or Instagram.
Thank you so much for your consideration in giving!
