Campaign for Bob Neumayer from Paul Bradshaw
Donation protected
I'm Paul Bradshaw and I'm reaching out to help a good friend, Bob Neumayer, get through a difficult time.
Bob’s now in his seventies, and advanced age and additional hardships have placed a financial strain on him. He now needs some short-term financial help to get him back on a good footing.
For those of you who don’t know, Bob spent many years as a pioneer wheelchair marathon racer, competing in the Long Island Marathon, the New York Marathon and several others. He competed at a high level and won several wheelchair marathon races, the most notable being the New York Marathon. Unfortunately, those days are now behind him, and Bob struggles to accomplish simple tasks now. Getting out of bed is a challenge and Bob needs aides to help him with this function. Common daily tasks require a great deal of effort.

Bob’s life story is told in his book “Drinking Drives You Straight: The Bob Neumayer Story” which chronicles his journey from serving in the United States Air Force, his civilian life afterwards, the tragic accident that occurred after he left the service and his eventual journey to becoming an elite wheelchair athlete. He lost the use of his legs from an automobile accident and realized he needed to change his life in many ways. He not only changed his life, but began to help many others. He’s been a mentor and friend to numerous people and we hope people can give in the same way he has freely given.
There’s a plan in place to help with his nursing care and other needs. We would be grateful for any help that can be given.
