To all drivers and friends of Ron Mooney, he needs our help. This is from Ron’s daughter.

From: Amanda Carter

Ronald Mooney is literally the best man I have ever known.  He is friendly, loyal, honest, and tryst worthy.  He would give you the shirt off of his back if you need it and not think twice about it before doing it!!!  Ron was a long-distance coach driver in the entertainment industry for more than 40 years, and everyone loved him!!! He was requested by the stars to be their driver as well, just because he is such an awesome person!!!  One year and a half ago, Ronald had to come home off the road driving a rig due to an infection in his foot, and also issues with his left hip and knee that it made it difficult for him to work at all.  He came home to take care of the issues so that he could go back to work, only to find out that he had become septic (blood infection) and was hospitalized for a few weeks, and after, continued to be on very strong antibiotics for two months straight.  Since that time, he has been septic 3 more times, has had numerous opportunistic infections, has been hospitalized 8 tines in the past year and a half (at least 2 weeks stay each time).  He has had about 15 different procedures with his heart and kidneys.  He had a heart cath and stent put in this past January.  About 2 weeks later, he developed a pseudoaneurysm in his femoral artery and a staph infection in his right hip.  We almost lost him several times and to be honest, Drs. Didn't expect him to make it, but he did!!!  He was in the hospital for like 45 days, had 2 major surgeries, and more procedures, endured more antibiotics and then was sent to rehab only able to sit up at 45 degrees.  While in the rehab, he once again had to be hospitalized for anemia, during which time, they also had to put in a pacemaker and defibrillator while he was hospitalized during that stay.  So that made his left arm unusable for 4 weeks.  So, on May 28th, the rehab released Ronald home without the ability to even transfer himself at all.  Now during the past 2 weeks, he has gotten much better at doing things for himself, but is still not able to transfer like he needs to and we recently found out the wheel chair may be a long-term thing for him.  We have not been able to transport my dad to his Dr. Appointments due to his current condition.  He, his wife Pamela, and daughter Amanda are all living together and all on disability.  We would really like to help him to either get his van set up for a wheelchair purchase a van that is already wheelchair accessible.  Medicare does not pay for transportation so it is on him to pay and he has been stood up multiple times by the transportation people and have had to miss appointments, and pay extra money as well.  Please find it in your heart to help him out.  Donate if you can!! Anything would help.  Share if you are not able to donate!! Thanks so much in advance!!!

Ron has been in the driving world for many years and for those who know him, his infectious smile and good heart are the first things that come to mind.
he is back home recovering, uncomplaining and with a smile.

The goal is raise at least $40,000 to help him purchase a wheelchair accessible van or help get his own van converted. Used prices for these vans start at $25k (high mileage) all the way up to$80k (new). If anyone has or knows where he can secure or get his own van converted for a reasonable price in the Jacksonville Florida area, please let us know!
Please find it in your heart to help this wonderful man, if you are unable to donate, please pray for him and share this link to as many as you can. Many Thanks.
