A call to action - Will you help students?

Donation protected
Students at the University of Arizona who utilize the African American Student Affairs (AASA) Cultural Resource Center bring a wealth of knowledge, skills, and dedication to campus, enriching immeasurably the teaching, research, and outreach mission of the university. A group of new students, many of whom are enrolled in a unique class designed for first-year students, entitled “Building Leaders And Creating Knowledge,” are in crisis – struggling financially to reduce their Bursar account balances so they can register for next semester. You can help them continue their education with your contributions to this time-sensitive fund. The goal of this fundraising effort is to eliminate – or at least lower – their current education-related debt as part of their efforts to pay for tuition, fees, housing, and food/meal plans. The goal is to pay off each student’s education-related debt this semester so that they can begin the spring semester with a renewed focus on their learning, mental and socio-emotional health, high aspirations, and life goals.

The organizers of this fundraiser are acting in their capacity as private individuals. This fundraiser is not sanctioned by or sponsored by the University of Arizona, and donations are not tax-deductible. Funds will be transferred into an account owned by Brenda Anderson and disbursed to student accounts on a weekly basis.*

*Funds raised are open to any student with demonstrated need.
