Support for Our Beloved Alira
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we reach out to you today on behalf of our dear friend, Alira, a loving mother, devoted mentor, and pillar of strength to so many. Alira, at just 39 years old, has always been a guiding light in the lives of those around her. She has been an unwavering source of social and emotional support, touching the lives of families, Elders, and individuals across her community, offering help wherever it’s needed—whether emotionally, personally, or professionally. Alira has always been a source of strength for me. A single phone call is all it ever takes when I need honest advice, an advocate, a friend, an ear. Her passion for Aboriginal culture and equality has always inspired me; her loyalty and dedication to those in need are evident in her willingness to support others, whether in times of celebration or sorrow.
Alira’s world was shattered three weeks ago when she was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer, which has unfortunately spread to her lymph nodes. This devastating news has left her family and friends heartbroken, but it has not taken away Alira’s incredible determination to fight. Though Perth oncologists and surgeons have offered chemotherapy as her only option, it will surprise none of us who know her that - Alira refuses to give up. She is tirelessly exploring alternative medical treatments, reaching out to cancer survivors and specialists in Australia and beyond, to find hope and options for life-saving care.
As a single mother of four beautiful children, Alira’s journey has always been one of selflessness. She has always given so much to others, and now, more than ever, she needs our help. The emotional and financial burden of this diagnosis is overwhelming, and while Alira is starting chemotherapy next week, it is uncertain how this will affect her quality of life.
So many of us are asking how best to help. Here is exactly what we want everyone to do - we are asking for donations, big or small, to alleviate some of the burden on Alira and her beautiful family during this difficult time. We want to give Alira the peace of mind to focus on healing without the added worry of how to afford the care she needs.
Please keep Alira and her family in your prayers, and if you can, consider donating to help her through this incredibly difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, is a step toward giving Alira the chance to continue fighting and the hope she deserves.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. Together, we can help Alira on this difficult journey.
