A call for Support for Mason Woolnough and Family
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Robyn Gervais and this fundraiser is for my 16 year old Nephew Mason and his family. Our family has recently been rocked by the news that Mason has an aggressive form of Bone Cancer called Osteosarcoma. We don't have all the details yet as this is all so new but we are creating this fundraiser to give our friends and family a way to feel like they can help without knowing how to help.. I also think this will be a great way to keep all our loved ones updates as we have more news to share.
We have set up this Go Fund Me to raise funds as Ali and Steve are going to need our financial support as they have been told they will need to be on site at Childrens Hospital for the next 8 to 9 months. We don't know logistics at this time but they will be moving to Vancouver this week with treatment starting by weeks end.. Steve works in Nunavut and works away for 6 weeks at a time. With 2 younger sons, Steve needs to be able to be home to try and keep things as normal as possible for the boys while Ali can be fulltime on site with Mason.
Two weeks ago Mason was getting ready for back to school and his 16th Birthday on September 1st.. He had a sore shoulder so an xray was done and within an hour, the dr called and said he would need further investigation.. Within days, he was referred to Oncology at Childrens and here we are two weeks later.. He will require extensive surgery on his shoulder as well as many months of Chemotherapy so I am asking for help to support them during this brutally difficult time.
WIth our amazing friends and family and the power of social media, I am reaching out to ask that you please help, please share and please hold space in your hearts for my nephew and his family.. I will update as I have news and we ask for privacy for the family as they have a lot on their plate but myself and our sister Carli are here if you need to reach out.
