Hi, my name is Mikaela, and I am the Owner and Director of Project Based Primary School! I currently teach a few children in my home but would love to expand and educate more children. To do this, Project Based Primary School needs to purchase its own building. I love the feeling of doing school in a home, and therefore am searching for the perfect small home that can house the school moving forward. Because this school is so new, in order to get a loan for a home, we are required to put 20% down for our down payment. I hope that our local and online community members can come together and help us offset that cost and help us find the perfect space to continue educating our youngest learners!

Project Based Primary School serves children ages 3-6, providing preschool and eventually kindergarten, using a project-based learning model. This type of education is immersive, hands-on, community-driven, and exploratory. Learning is guided by the interests of the children, solves a real-world problem or contributes to the community in an authentic way. This school provides an opportunity for young children to learn organically in a way that allows each to progress at their own pace.

A bit about me: I am a certified educator with a decade of teaching experience. I most recently worked for our local school district, where I was a founding teacher of our city's first public, project-based learning school. My passion for PBL education found its way onto my Instagram account, @raisinglittlegoose. I now share my love of teaching and early childhood education through downloadable learning activities and a monthly membership where I walk alongside parents ad educators as they homeschool their children or teach in the classroom. I am a wife and a mother, and nothing makes me happier than watching my own child learn alongside her friends!
