Here’s the story: Pascagoula Firefighter, Father, Husband and Friend needs our help. Firefighter Latch is the true definition of a firefighter. FF. Latch volunteers his time as a squad member for Tunnel to Towers Biloxi so that we can help Fallen First Responders and US Service Members killed in the line of duty. It’s now our turn to help Firefighter Jacob Latch and his Family.
Jacob and Kathryn “Katie” Latch have been married for 13 years. They have 3 children, Avery (12), Olivia “Oli” (9), and Finley (7). On or around September 30th, after several doctors appointments due to months of back pain Jacob and his family received news that he was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer called epithelioid hemangioendothelioma “EHE”. The cancer began attacking his spine as well as his lungs, he received surgery to remove the affected area of the spine and replaced with a cage. When he went to his follow up PET scan he was informed the cancer had progressed in his lungs. The doctors urged them to go to MD Anderson in Houston to receive the best care. On the morning of October 10th the family was informed that it had also spread to other bones and has progressed to a point of no return. The doctors are keeping him stable and comfortable right now. They have not given the family a timeframe but did say that if it continues to progress quickly he would likely have only a couple of days. His immediate family along with his brothers, sisters, mother, and father are making the unfortunate journey to MD Anderson. Update he will be placed on hospice today. Please prayer for Jacob and his Family.
