Hi!

My name is Ginny (like a gin&tonic) and I’m a 1 year old SWEETHEART with a broken patella! I love swimming in the summer but my day of fun ended in the worst way by me bumping my kneecap pretty hard onto the dock when jumping up from the shore. My X-rays show a clean break right through my rear left patella which my vet along with 2 board certified orthopedic surgeon vets have agreed needs immediate surgery to fix. We’ve been told that the muscles in that area are super strong and are pulling the split bone in opposite directions and will not heal together without surgery stabilization. My pet insurance was 2 days away from going into effect and my mom is completely unable to afford my treatment as SHE is undergoing treatment herself for an injury that has had her medically prescribed to be off work since December 2020. My initial vet visit with xrays and pain meds cost $470 that was paid for with Care credit, as my vet does not do payment plans. **The surgery is scheduled for Thursday 7/8 and gave an estimate for between $3,757 - $4,257. The goal has been updated to include both the initial vet visit costs as well as the high end of the estimate for surgery incase it comes to that. After the surgery is finished and we are given the official amount due, we will update the goal to reflect. I am an emotional support pupper for my mom who spent multiple weeks in the hospital for depression in 2019/2020. I’m necessary!!
