Help Gaza's High School Students Reclaim Their Future
My name is Raghad Harara, and I am an English language teacher from Gaza.
For the past three years, thousands of high school students in Gaza have been deprived of their right to education. War, displacement, the destruction of schools, and the collapse of the educational system have left many students without consistent learning opportunities. Schools have been damaged or destroyed, educational resources are scarce, and many students have lost access to teachers, classrooms, electricity, and internet services.
As a teacher, I have witnessed the devastating impact this situation has had on students. Many young people have spent years away from proper education and now find themselves expected to sit for their secondary school examinations despite significant learning gaps. They are confused, overwhelmed, and uncertain about their future.
One of the most overlooked groups is high school students. While many humanitarian and educational initiatives focus on younger children, students in Grades 11 and 12 often receive limited support, even though this stage determines their access to university education and future careers.
Adding to their challenges, universities in Gaza have not been able to operate normally, leaving students with little understanding of higher education opportunities, academic pathways, or how to prepare for university life.
To address this urgent need, we are launching the "Back to the Future" project. This initiative will provide intensive academic support, psychosocial assistance, digital learning resources, mock examinations, and university guidance for high school students in Gaza.
Each cohort will serve 100 students over a three-month period. Upon completion of one cohort, a new group of students will be enrolled, allowing the project to reach and support hundreds of young people over time.
Your contribution will help provide:
* Qualified teachers and educational support.
* Learning materials and study resources.
* Computers, internet access, and digital learning tools.
* Psychosocial support services.
* University and career guidance.
* Safe learning spaces for students affected by conflict.
Education is more than learning—it is hope, dignity, and the opportunity to build a better future. Together, we can help Gaza's students overcome years of disruption and regain the chance to pursue their dreams.
Thank you for standing with Gaza's youth and investing in their future.
