A Brighter Future 4 Shayi

06/16 UPDATE: Shayi is half way through his treatments and doing well. The lump in his groin is almost completely gone and the chemo regiment he is on seems to be working l. He is very sick and weak, spending most of his days resting. With the current pandemic he is unable to work which is great for the rest he needs but not for a financially struggling young family. He and his family are in our prayers and helping him as much as possible. 03/24 UPDATE: Shayi has had three blood transfusions with two full rounds of chemo. The positive side is the baseball size lump on his lower groin area has started to shrink in size, this means chemo is working. The not so good update is he has already started to loose his hair, food has no flavor and a very uncomfortable burning sensation in his mouth. The Nausea from chemo is taking its toll and added very uncomfortable body aches. Due to recent events and COVID19, Shayi has been sent home from work as he is very high risk of this virus. Being home allows him time to rest but affects the ability to provide for his family. THANK YOU all for your donations as it’s helping more now than ever! Shayi remains positive through all of this, he is a fighter and is making us proud as he gives hope when it’s needed. 03/07 UPDATE: Shayi has had two blood transfusions due to very low hemoglobin levels. He has had his first round of chemo. 02/27/20 UPDATE: No chemo today, hemoglobin levels in Shayi’s blood were extremely low(anemic) he has to get a blood transfusion today to bring his red blood cell count up high enough to start chemo. The cancer has now spread to the bone marrow in his legs. Shayi has been extremely strong through all of this. When I’m ready to just breakdown he keeps us all positive. 02/24/20 UPDATE: Shayi’s chemo port surgery went very well last Friday. Shayi had the big appointment where we discussed everything we could with his oncologist. Shayi has been diagnosed Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and upgraded to stage 4. This is the stage where we have the most concern of it spreading to other organs. His first round of Chemo is Thursday (02/27) and will continue every other week for a total of 12 treatments. Thank you all, again for all of your thoughts, prayers and assistance! We still have a long way to go but every little bit has been a huge deal, a huge stress reliever for he and his young family. Thank you all for your love and generosity. 02/14/20 UPDATE: Shayi is stage 3 Hodgkins. The cancer is throughout the Lymphatic system. Neck, chest, stomach and groin. He will be getting a chemo port surgically implanted next week. UPDATE: Shayi has had is first round of tests.  His ECHO test (An echocardiogram (echo) is a graphic outline of the heart's movement. During an echo test, ultrasound (high-frequency sound waves) from a hand-held wand placed on your chest provides pictures of the heart's valves and chambers and helps the sonographer evaluate the pumping action of the heart.)  Results on this test are good/positive.  He then had the PFT's exam (Pulmonary function testing -Pulmonary function test is a complete evaluation of the respiratory system including patient history, physical examinations, and tests of pulmonary function. The primary purpose of pulmonary function testing is to identify the severity of pulmonary impairment.)  Results on this test are good/positive.Next test was to determine and discuss fertility vs infertility - Results as personal as they are are to be determined through lab testing sent off today.  Shayi is doing very well and staying as strong and as positive as possible through all of this, for his family.  Your thoughts, prayers and donations have been..... overwhelming to say the least. Any amount, even the smallest of amounts are adding to the assistance he, and his family will need.  We are all forever grateful for all of these acts of kindness - Thank you does not seem like enough, but THANK YOU!  Brand new young dad, Shayi (21years) has just recently been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease. (Hodgkin's disease (HD) is a type of lymphoma, which is a blood cancer that starts in the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system helps the immune system get rid of waste and fight infections. HD is also called Hodgkin disease, Hodgkin lymphoma, and Hodgkin's lymphoma)Shayi's next few test include:Fertility tes* Echo scan (heart) Pet scan (whole body scan)And finally start chemo through a chemo port Shayi has already spent the last few months focusing all of his time and attention on the premature birth of his first son Boston whom spent his first few weeks in the NICU. As you can imagine Shayi is already experiencing the financial hardships of all of this and missing work.  The mounting medical bills are becoming too stressful and the assistance is needed as soon as possible.

Just helping him take care of these medical bills would help him in the best way possible so that he can focus on him and getting better for his young family.
