Hi, my name is Alice and I’m the proud Aunty of a tiny fighter called Storm.
This August, I’m going to run 3K every day to raise some money (but I’ve actually decided I’m going to start 21/07/2025)
Storm was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 at just 16 months old. He finished chemo the first time in 2022 and was smashing life; dancing, running, climbing, dressing up, swimming, playing football and just being a funny, cheeky little boy, with regular check-ups to keep an eye on things.
But on the 1st of Feb this year, just a week out from a routine scan, Storm was saying he couldn’t wee - and that was the start of a rough year.
Storm had relapsed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, and since then he’s been through intense chemotherapy and has had to have life-saving, and life-changing surgery. He starts his final 8 rounds of chemo on 21/07/25 and we are all hoping this will be the end of this horrible chapter.
Because I live in Australia, I miss out on a lot of time with my family. So last year in April (when Storm was thriving), my partner Mel and I organised a big family holiday to Spain in September 2025. The plan was to bring everyone together to hang out in the sun, meet each-other (our families haven’t met and we’ve been together 5 years) and make some core memories - we’ve all literally been so excited.
But now, it’s not just a regular holiday anymore. Storm’s health means we have to think about specialised travel insurance, which costs a small fortune - anywhere from £3,000 to £4,000 (or more).
And that’s why I’m here - I’m hoping to raise enough money so that Storm can come on this family trip without his parents having to worry about covering the insurance cost.
Truth be told, we’re not even sure yet if they’ll be able to make it. It all depends on how Storm handles these next few rounds of chemo. But if all goes well, the trip will fall at the halfway point and he might be well enough to come. We are hoping, and we are praying. ❤️
His parents, Amy and Levi, have already been to hell and back this year. Before Storm relapsed, they had just moved into a house that needed renovating and were expecting another baby. The new baby is here now and they’re juggling a lot.
Whether they manage to make it to Spain or not, they deserve a holiday. So this fundraiser will go towards Storm’s holiday insurance, for this trip or whenever the time is right.
