A BRACE FOR BELLA! Her Scoliosis Journey!

For those of you who don’t already know, this is Isabella Juliette, mostly known as BELLA, our niece/granddaughter/cousin. She lives in Florida with both her parents Sonia and Justin. Isabella is 8yrs old with the most beautiful big green/hazel eyes that just make you feel some sort of way. She is also an incredibly smart, happy and active little girl who is LOVED BEYOND MEASURE and we need YOUR HELP TO KEEP IT THAT WAY!
Bella recently had her annual physical. During this exam as you know they check for many things including a curve in the spine, which they felt she had. Bella was then sent for an x-ray, which her pediatrician confirmed the curve in her spine was significant. She was then sent to an orthopedic specialist, who OFFICIALLY confirmed that Bella has SCOLIOSIS with a 33 degree curve in her spine.
Sooooo…… we are NOW a PROUD SCOLIOSIS FAMILY, PARTY OF 15 STRONG!
Bella will need to wear a brace 24/7 until she STOPS GROWING! This will help to STOP AND OR SLOW PROGRESSION of the curve. She is able to remove the brace for gym and showering. But this is basically a good portion of her life as she continues to grow AND OUTGROW FUTURE BRACES AS WELL.
She was recently seen at Fenton Orthotic and Prosthetics and was measured for her special brace. Bella’s brace is called the BOSTON BRACE. It was stated she is the youngest they have ever measured in the office for one and they were GREAT with her! Unfortunately, their insurance does NOT COVER ANY OF THIS BRACE.
The BOSTON BRACE is EXPENSIVE! We as a family are asking all of you for a little help to offset this cost for Bella and her family. ANY donation is appreciated. For some, it may not seem like a big expense but this is just the beginning. Bella will outgrow this brace in a year or less. We just don’t know how soon. Being newly diagnosed, with doctor’s appointments and follow ups the copays are adding up very quickly. THIS IS THE LAST THING THEY NEED TO WORRY ABOUT especially that she needs this brace NOW.
