Black Encyclopedia : An Alternative to Wikipedia

Donation protected

There has been a disturbing trend going on behind the scenes at Wikipedia. Articles about African-American topics are often the target of malicious editing and marked for deletion. Black editors on Wikipedia are routinely marginalized by the overwhelming white majority. This passive aggressive environment has become toxic for African-American editors.

Here is an article detailing the racial bias on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racial_bias_on_Wikipedia

In response, I have registered http://www.theblackencyclopedia.com as an African-American alternative to Wikipedia.

The Black Encyclopedia would like to hire (2) African-American editors to transcribe/transfer existing Wikipedia data and (1) African-American historian to verify information with appropriate source material for this anticipated (1) year startup phase.

The Black Encyclopedia will solicit volunteers to maintain and update its database after the (1) year startup phase.

The anticipated launch date for The Black Encyclopedia is JANUARY 1, 2022
