A Birthday Surprise for My Amazing Son!
Happy birthday to my incredible son!
As you turn 17 today, I want you to know how much I admire the person that you are and the human being you are becoming and growing to be. This past year alone has brought us more than its fair share of hardships and challenges, yet you have met every one with a maturity and grace that takes my breath away. At 16, you balance school, work, relationships, and responsibilities as well as most adults, and all the while you also step it up to help and support me in all the times that I am unable to. That, my son, matters more than you know and I cannot thank you enough. I see your dedication and drive and how you show up for yourself and others, even when things are impossibly hard. Your kindness and resilience have been my anchor through the roughest season of my life. I appreciate everything you are and everything you do. I am proud to call you my son and so proud to be your mom.
My prayer for you on your 17th birthday is that you feel some of the heaviness lift, if even for a moment. I want you to be able to focus on yourself and this pivotal year in your studies with less worry, less stress, and to get a good night's sleep for once.
Whether a gesture big or small, a gift, a prayer, or a kind word— I want you to be surrounded by the reminder that people are rooting for you, celebrating you, and here for you.

<<A couple bits of life lately this past year:
•mom unwell ➡️ medical care ➡️ $$$
•loss of income 1yr+
•car troubles
•car accident
•consistently stressed due to monthly struggles to cover rent and basic utilities
•entire apartment had mold growth due to broken a/c over the summer and suffered major loss of furniture, clothing, and belongings, (we currently are taking turns sharing a twin mattress)
•our beloved pet developed serious asthmatic conditions needing medical care now as well
•stopping there to keep post focus 100% about and for my amazing kid! >>
