A big run for Alaw ward
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hannah and on the 14th of April last year I opened a message from my Dad telling me that he had just received a diagnosis of Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the head and neck. It was the news that every person dreads. He soon began a series of gruelling rounds of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, dealing with the horrific side effects of treatment and taking each day as it came, no matter how difficult.
I am overjoyed to say that after completing treatment he is now cancer-free and back to living his best life with his amazing fiance Ingrid and spending time walking in the outdoors with their dogs Rhea and Kai. For this, I will be eternally grateful, to the medical marvels of science, each member of my Dad's multi-disciplinary team and to Ingrid for being there for him through thick and thin.
During my Dad's treatment, he was at times admitted to the Alaw Ward at Ysbysty Gwynydd, Bangor for monitoring and support. We were blown away by the excellent care the team at Alaw ward offered my Dad when he was at his most unwell. I can't thank them enough for all they did for him, so I would like to raise even a small amount of money for the ward as a token of my gratitude for taking such good care of my Dad.
Thank you so much for your support!
