Hi, my name is Johnae.
I’m a future foster parent, student, and founder of Rise to Your Journey, a program dedicated to giving teen girls in foster care a stable, healing, and empowering environment to grow.
I’m almost done with my foster care classes and ready to take the next step, but I need your help. I have the heart but not the space. I’m raising funds to secure a home where I can welcome foster children into a safe, loving, and consistent environment.
I don’t have any children of my own, but I’ve always felt called to be a mother figure to those who need one most. I’ve cared for so many kids over the years, often without being asked. It’s just who I am.
I know not everyone would open their doors to foster kids, and that’s okay. But if you’ve ever wanted to give back or make a difference, this is a powerful way to do that.
I’m currently working on getting a bigger living space and a reliable vehicle to create the kind of home these kids deserve. Anybody who knows me knows my heart. I’m not doing this just for me. I’m doing this for the next generation.
I watch other people’s children all the time, often for free, because I love them like my own. I’ve always had someone else’s child with me. I was made for this. I just need the space to bring it to life.
Everybody who knows me knows I’m a prayer warrior. I don’t just care for people physically, I cover them spiritually. I pray over the children I care for, the families I serve, and the community I walk in. This mission is a calling, not just a goal.
I’m also calling on everyone I’ve ever supported. Whether I uplifted you, helped you with a ride, gave you encouraging words, or held you down when you needed it, this is your chance to help me give that same love to children in need.
I kept asking God, “What can I do to get everything I need?” And He answered. He’s sending help through you. Just know it’s very appreciated.
My goal is to raise the full amount by July 15 so I can move forward with housing and officially welcome children into care. If I raise more than my goal, every extra dollar will go toward launching my long-term vision — a full group home for teen girls in the foster care system.
I’m asking for your help. Whether you donate $5, $50, or $500, it all adds up. Please help me build something bigger than myself.
When the space is ready, I’ll show you what you helped make possible. I can’t wait to become a foster parent, and I’ll never forget the people who helped me get there.
With love and gratitude,
Johnae
