A bicycle for Mark

Hi, my name is Crystal, and I am raising money for a bike for my friend Mark. In the time I have known Mark, I have watched him lose his health, which led to his job loss. The loss of his job very recently led to the loss of his home. He is currently homeless and relies on his bicycle for transportation, most notably for his numerous medical appointments. Someone stole that bicycle this week.

Mark Choquette is known among most ministries for his volunteer work. He has volunteered and supported dozens of ministries. He has a giver's heart. He is beloved by everyone. I know not a single person who does not consider Mark a friend. He is always smiling, always helping, and until his health gave out, he was always hardworking.

I am now president of a 5013c, but I was homeless in winter many years ago. I had gotten wet. It was below 20 degrees. I was in my tent trying to get warm and made a Facebook live about the situation. I had never heard of Mark, yet he drove to the location of my tent and dropped off a brand-new propane stove and several cans of propane. He used his credit card to purchase them, as he lived paycheck to paycheck. In all seriousness, I believe Mark saved my life that night.

I have made the amount slightly higher than the cost of a new bike and lock because Mark is currently a squatter. He has no material possessions, no home, no car, and his body is too decimated by illness to allow him to support himself.

(He will not go into assisted living because he has two cats he rescued and will not be separated from his cats.) Any extra funds will go to helping Mark get things he needs jail, such as bus passes for his numerous doctors’ appointments.
