A Better Life For Subash After Deportation

We have no choice but to ask you for a donation for Subash.

If you were able to donate in Subash's previous campaign, thank you. The funds you so generously donated before are safe and waiting to be transferred to support his next opportunity. We are asking you to extend your heartfelt compassion for Subash once again.

If you were unable to donate in the first campaign, please take this opportunity to support Subash now. He needs it now more than ever!

When we first posted a GoFundMe on January 15, 2020,  Subash’s deportation was eminent. Unfortunately, Subash sat in detention more than 8 more months wondering and worrying about his fate, all the while his problems in Nepal were multiplying.

We are sad to tell you that Subash was deported on Tuesday, 5 months short of 5 years ago when he first came to the border asking for asylum. We are relieved to report that we have heard from him and he arrived safely, but that is where the good news ends.

Subash is facing an enormous challenge ahead as he, and all of us, work to find ways to keep him safe and move on to a place where he will have the possibility of building a good life for himself.

So, I wish I didn’t have to ask again,  but I am hoping that you will have the ability to help Subash just a little bit more.  We are working hard from here to find options for Subash, but that is going to take more money than we anticipated and currently have.

From Kathmandu Subash now has to find a way to rebuild his life in order to not only pay off the $40,000 debt from his journey to the United States but also to build a new, safe life and future. With the average weekly salary in Nepal being $65.00 Subash has an insurmountable challenge ahead.

Your donation will help Subash explore all opportunities and possibilities and this can only be done with your help.  Anything you could give now is truly appreciated.  If you are unable to contribute we ask that you share this campaign with your family and friends.

We wish all of you had had the opportunity to meet Subash.  He is an amazing, resilient young man, who never stopped trying to help others with whom he was detained.  Subash has left a lasting impression on every life he touched here.  He is truly a part the lives of many of us.

Our system failed a young man who had so much to offer us.

Your donation will let Subash know, that despite all he endured here in detention for four and a half years, there are so many good people in the United States that really do care.
