A Benefit for Beverly
Donation protected
Dear family, friends, co-workers and (hopefully) benevolent strangers,
As many of you may or may not know by now, through no fault of her own, our mom -Beverly Okoniewski- was diagnosed with Stage IV Bile Duct/Liver Cancer last month. Though the doctor has not said "terminal" - it is unresectable with no cure. She has begun chemo treatments in the hopes of slowing the cancer or in the least relieving the pain and symptoms- treatments that will now be a lifelong endeavor.
"Quality not quantity" has become her motto these days, and that's what we hope to give her.
Since the diagnosis she has hit the ground running with no break in the endless number of tasks and worries. She has never complained in the past, even through all the prior unrelated surgeries and chronic pain- and has been nothing but strong and positive even now. At this point in time however, due to the severe pain and symptoms caused by the cancer, she is unable to work. With no current income, the addition of new medical bills has put her in a tight spot. She doesn't want anyone to feel responsible or worry about her affairs, but we want to help- and anyone that knows her, probably knows how hard it was to convince her to let us do this! She has worked hard all her life, giving her all for not only friends and family, but also for anyone that has been in her care as a nurse -and- in her service to our country as a Navy Veteran. So now it's our turn.
The goal set is a lofty number, but that's all it is - a number. Any amount whether it be a dollar or more, will be a great help. If we can raise enough to at least help cover her medical expenses for a month or two, that's at least a month or two she doesn't have to worry!
So please- we ask for your help- even if it's just in spreading the word.
Any donations made will go directly towards Beverly's ongoing medical bills and related expenses - I'll make updates as the bills are sorted to show how the donations are helping.
Thank you all for your support! Sincerely with much love and hope,
Bevatron's kids
