A Bench for Leslie at Meier's Pond

Hi my name is Nicole Spaldo. I got to know Leslie McGlynn through one of the message boards in MO. She was always dedicated to cleaning up the trash she found on her walks and thoroughly enjoyed Turkey Brook Park. She also was an advocate of clean communities and would often follow up with dumpster companies to keep their areas clean. Sadly, Leslie passed away on Sunday 1/2/21 and there will be no formal services. We would like to place a bench in her memory at the pond and have a memorial for her in the spring. She would have liked to be able to rest there on her clean up journey. Leslie is the reason I started Mount Olive Cleans Up! She was community minded and always willing to pitch in. She loved the outdoors and camping and used to work at Waterloo Village. By those who knew her, she will be missed and deserves to be remembered. The bench costs $1600 but there are fees associated with GoFundMe so that's why it is listed at $1700. When we have reached our goal, the fundraiser will be turned off.
