A Bench for Bev

Hi, I’m Sam and I’m raising funds to dedicate a bench in memory of my mom, Beverly. Prospect Park is my favorite place in New York City, and I’ve spent countless hours there walking Buddy and chatting with mom on the phone. She was always happy to know I was at the park, because she knew it meant Buddy had the opportunity to play and run around. Mom loved dogs and kiddos, and a bench is a perfect way to that her spirit is always surrounded by both.

I had just arrived in Prospect Park with Buddy and sat down on a blanket when I received the news that mom had passed away. I felt like it was the universe’s way of making sure I was in a safe, comforting place to receive such devastating news.

A bench in the park will be a place for me to miss, honor, and celebrate her. And Buddy too ♥️
