With heavy hearts, our ʻohana is sharing that my dad was called home on Wednesday, June 17th. While this has been one of the hardest moments we have faced, we are grateful for the time we had with him and the love, memories, and lessons he left behind.
Just a few days before my dad’s passing, our ʻohana also marked the 2-year anniversary of my mom’s passing. Losing both of our parents so close together has been incredibly emotional, and we are leaning on the love, strength, and support of our ʻohana and community during this time.
We are starting this fundraiser to help with the expenses of his celebration of life, where we can gather as ʻohana and friends to honor him, share stories, and celebrate the life he lived. Our hope is to give him a beautiful farewell surrounded by the people who loved and cared for him.
In Hawaiʻi, we know that coming together, sharing aloha, and supporting one another is what carries us through the hardest times. Any contribution, no matter how big or small, will help our family create a meaningful celebration in his honor.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. Sharing this fundraiser, sending your love, or keeping our ʻohana in your thoughts and prayers means just as much.
Mahalo nui loa for the love, kindness, and support you have shown our family during this difficult time. We are truly grateful as we honor my dad’s life and the impact he had on all of us.
With aloha,
The Nakihei ʻOhana
