In Loving Memory of Modesto “Mo / JR / Junior / Junie” Reyes Jr.

December 12, 1960 – December 3, 2025

My father, Modesto Reyes Jr.—or “Mo,” “JR,” “Junior,” “Junie,” depending on how you knew him—went home to heaven peacefully on December 3rd. After fighting for his life for a month and a half in the ICU, God decided He didn’t want him to suffer any longer and gave him his wings. Now, he is our guardian angel.

If you knew my dad, you knew his heart—the biggest heart you could ever imagine. From his clients, co-workers, friends, and hospital staff to complete strangers, he loved people deeply. He cared, he helped, he supported, and he lifted others even when he was struggling himself. That was who he was.

He was the funniest, loudest, most animated soul in every room—cracking jokes, tipping his hat to the side, dancing, acting silly, doing whatever he could to make people laugh just so someone else could forget their worries for a moment. A true character. A true light.

In Reading, he was everybody’s friend. You could spot him instantly in his Phillies or Eagles gear, riding in a clean, hooked-up car—always spotless, always with rims shining. And no matter who you ask, they have a story about Mo. He had the ability to make strangers feel like family. He left an imprint on everyone he met.

My father gave love freely, endlessly, and without hesitation. Now, in this moment, I’m humbly asking for help in giving him the beautiful “going home” celebration and funeral service he truly deserves. Something worthy of the man he was—a man of joy, generosity, laughter, love, and faith.
