A message from Kawika's mom.
I want to start by saying thank you to everyone for their love and support I'm a single mom with 2 sons n now half my heart is gone. Kawika was the kind young man that passed away in the Makakilo accident, only 4 days into the new year. It's been extremely difficult 2 find words, but kawika deserves 2 be remembered 4 the beautiful person he is. Hes my social butterfly, and easily made friends everywhere he went. Hes always been adventurous and just so full of life. He loved animals, music, and being at the beach. Since he was a young boy you could see he had a soft but big heart! He always gave wholeheartedly and knew how to make w laugh and his smile! Omg who could ever forget that smile! He lived life his way, with respect, compassion, excitement, and so much more Sometimes I wish I could've seen the world thru his eyes. He had a way of bringing out the best in people.
No child should ever go before their parent, and no words have ever beer spoken more true. Theres absolutely nothing that can prepare u 4 this feeling, and I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during this time. Please dont take ur family 4 granted. Let them know u luv them, not just by saying it but show them.
And please pay attention to the road while your driving. Slow down, stay off your phone, use caution when you see anyone on the side of the road Let's really Drive with Aloha

Hi, my name is Angela. Both of the young men who were in the Makakilo accident are my nephews. I am starting this on behalf of my sister, Kim, her son, my nephew.

This GoFundMe is for my nephew, Kawika, who unfortunately passed away on the scene. I am starting this GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.

A little bit about my nephew, Kawika.
His cousin who was involved in the accident wasn't just his cousin; he was also his best friend. Though Kawika isn't nearly as loud as his cousin, Kawika was a quiet, handsome guy with a beautiful smile and an amazing heart. He loved to make people smile and hang out with his family and friends. Kawika had a love for dogs, so much so that he enjoyed working as a dog groomer before getting a job on Pearl Harbor. If he came over and you had a dog, he'd probably give more attention to your dog. Kawika was full of life and still had so much more in life to fulfill. He has definitely left us too soon.

There's also a GoFundMe for his cousin, Gabe.

Mahalo nui for taking the time to read this. Have a great day. Aloha.
