A baby for Nisha
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
They say it takes a village to raise a child. In the case of my dear sister, Nisha, and her husband, Trannan, it will take a village to get a child here in the first place. The deepest desire of Nisha’s heart is to have a biological child of her own, and she has held out hope for this great blessing for a very long time. Now that she is at last in a position to have a baby, she has received the devastating news that she has a severe case of endometriosis. As she and her husband have considered the options, they have decided to pursue the most viable path: IVF. As you may know, this is a very expensive journey, and though Nisha has often despaired of coming up with sufficient funds, we as her family have encouraged her to ask for help. We know that she and Trannan are loved by so many people whose lives they have touched throughout the years, and that there are many who would love to contribute even a little to help make the blessing of a baby a reality for them. Even a few dollars from each friend will add up to make a real difference for this wonderful couple. Here is their story, in Nisha’s own words:
I was born in India and adopted as an infant to a little family in Utah. Because it was in the 80s and an international adoption, it was a closed adoption. I always longed for a biological connection as I never met my birth family. I suspected I would meet that desire, at least to some extent, by having children of my own. And I ALWAYS wanted to be a mother. Always. I thought that would surely happen in my 20s. But it didn’t. I remained single well into my 30s. By then, I decided that the only way I would address some of my longing for that biological connection would be by going to India in person. I would visit the orphanage, potentially visit my village, etc. The trip was slated to happen in April. Of 2020. As you can imagine, I was devastated when the fierce pandemic overtook the world and my trip was canceled. But not all was lost. In the midst of all that, I found my amazing husband and we tied the knot earlier this year. Hooray!!! Unfortunately, by this point I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis. The doctors have tried treatment to control my condition, but with my advancing age, my window of opportunity to become a mother is getting smaller.
This is extremely difficult for us to ask for financial help. Even as I write this, I’m crying. We know that so many of you are experiencing financial strain and other difficulties as well. But despite our best efforts to save enough money, be fiscally responsible, etc. we have had some financial setbacks not of our doing. And we are finding that we need a village now to help us out in order for us to jump through this window of opportunity before it closes. We would be so grateful if you wanted to support our cause and spread the word too.
Note: If, by some miracle, we exceed our financial goal, we want it to be known that we will be good stewards of your generosity and pay it forward to other couples who want a baby and need financial assistance too.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your friendship and encouragement, and for being the village we need–in so many ways.
Love,
Nisha and Trannan
