Help Tejpreet Singh Fight Blood Cancer Far From Home
My name is Gurjinder Singh, and I am fundraising for Tejpreet Singh, a 22-year-old international student currently living in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Tejpreet came to Australia three years ago with hope, determination, and dreams of building a better future through education. Like many international students, he left behind his family, comfort, and familiarity to work hard, study, and create a meaningful life here.
He never imagined that instead of focusing on his studies, he would be admitted through the Emergency Department and diagnosed with a life-threatening blood cancer affecting his bone marrow.
Medical Diagnosis
Tejpreet’s bone marrow report has confirmed a diagnosis of B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (B-ALL) — an aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow.
Because of this condition, Tejpreet is experiencing severe anaemia (very low haemoglobin levels). His body is unable to produce healthy blood cells, which means:
He requires daily blood tests
He needs frequent blood transfusions to keep him stable
He is under constant medical monitoring
In a matter of days, Tejpreet’s life changed completely.
According to his bone marrow report and treating haematologist’s notes, his condition requires:
Immediate and intensive chemotherapy
Prolonged inpatient hospital admission
Close monitoring due to high medical risk, including extreme weakness, rapid weight loss, and serious treatment-related complications
Tejpreet is expected to remain admitted for a minimum of 33 days, with the possibility of further hospitalisation depending on how his body responds to treatment.
He is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy as an inpatient at St Vincent’s Hospital. Since starting treatment, he has lost over 10 kilograms in just one week, his strength has declined rapidly, and he is fighting both physically and emotionally every single day.
How This All Began
On 08/12/2025, Tejpreet’s life changed overnight when he was urgently admitted to hospital after doctors discovered severe pancytopenia and circulating abnormal blast cells in his blood tests — findings highly suspicious for acute leukaemia.
A haematologist immediately reviewed his blood film and recommended urgent referral and admission due to the critical and life-threatening nature of his condition.
These findings placed Tejpreet into immediate and aggressive treatment.
Alone, Far From Home
Far from home, without family by his side until now, Tejpreet is facing the hardest battle of his life in a foreign country — something no young student ever expects when they arrive with dreams and hope.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
As an international student, Tejpreet is facing unimaginable hardship:
❌ He cannot work due to chemotherapy
❌ He has lost all income
❌ He cannot pay rent
❌ He cannot pay his college fees
❌ He is paying medical-related costs from his own savings
❌ He has no family in Australia to support him
His mother urgently applied for a visitor visa to come to Australia to care for him physically and emotionally. Her visa has now been granted, and she is arriving this week, as Tejpreet’s condition has left him extremely vulnerable. While her presence is essential, it also brings additional financial strain, including travel, accommodation, and daily living costs.
❤️ OUR GOAL: $50,000
We are raising $40,000 to help cover:
✔ Medical-related expenses and treatment support
✔ Rent and essential living costs during hospitalisation
✔ College tuition fees he can no longer afford
✔ Travel, accommodation, and living costs for his mother
✔ Food, medications, transport, and daily needs during chemotherapy
✔ Recovery and support after discharge
How the Funds Will Be Used
All donations will be used to support:
Daily living and hospital-related expenses
International student tuition fees
Accommodation and basic living costs for his mother
Travel and essential needs during prolonged hospitalisation
Financial stability so Tejpreet can focus on treatment and survival
