Hi everyone... My name is Zoey and I’m 11 years old. I’m usually pretty happy and I love to laugh, be creative, and spend time with my friends family.

One of my favorite things to do is play disc golf with my dad, who I live with full time, and with my friends and family on Team ApeX that I am happy to be a part of.

Being out on the course with them is one of my favorite places where I feel like I can be myself.

But there’s something I’ve been quietly dealing with for a long time.

I was born with a jaw condition that causes a severe underbite and its getting worse. As I’ve gotten older, it has started causing more problems. Eating is painful sometimes, and I have trouble sleeping comfortably because of how my jaw hurts. Some days are harder than others, but I try really hard to stay positive and keep smiling.

My doctors say I need braces and a surgery called orthognathic surgery to fix my jaw. This treatment isn’t cosmetic — it’s medically necessary to help me eat without pain, sleep better, and allow my jaw and face to grow the way they’re supposed to.

I’m nervous about the surgery, but I’m also hopeful because I want to feel better and keep doing the things I love without hurting so much.

My dad and family are doing everything they can to help me get this treatment. Unfortunately, insurance doesn’t cover all of the cost, and it’s more than we can afford on our own.

Asking for help is hard, but we’re hoping people who hear my story might be willing to help me get the care I need.
