Zoey needs surgery to breathe!

Donation protected
Hello!

Update on Zoey (5/16/23): It's been a nerve-racking couple of weeks. Zoey's breathing is clearly labored, and her neck is still swollen, but she's been powering through. The vet clinic got a new CT scanner, and it took longer than expected to get it up and running. Luckily, they called this morning and finally got Zoey scheduled for the second scan she needs. We're dropping her off tomorrow morning. Hopefully we'll have some more answers soon. Right now, we're looking at either surgery or radiation therapy, depending on how close the mass is to her blood vessels. There is still a long road ahead, and we cannot express how much we cherish all your support. If you've already donated towards helping us with these vet bills, THANK YOU! If you're not able to donate, please share this GoFundMe. We just want to do everything we can to help our little girl. She still has so much life left in her.

(5/2/23) Another Update on Zoey: We've been able to get the swelling to go down with some natural supplements and we are confident we can wait for her discounted scan on 5/9. Her chest is still swollen but she is having an easier time breathing. The mass will need to be removed or she made need radiation. We will update as soon as we know which path to take to make our baby well. Thank you again for all your support and donations!

(4/24/23) Another update on Zoey: We got some test results over the weekend. The good news is, it is NOT lymphoma, so no chemotherapy. Now, it's just a question of dealing with this mass in her chest. The vet wants to do another CT scan to see where her blood vessels are. If the mass is clear of them, then our best option is a straightforward surgery to remove the mass. If her blood vessels are tangled up in the mass, then surgery is too risky; and the only treatment option is radiation therapy. They're saying radiation isn't nearly as hard on dogs as it is on humans, so that's something.

So now we're just trying to get in for another CT scan, probably in the next week or so. The vet is getting a new scanner, so we may be able to get a discount on the next scan if we can time it right.

Zoey is doing okay. Occasional labored breathing and wheezing, but otherwise stable, and still the most beautiful dog.

We are so grateful to everyone who has donated to help our girl. We have a long road ahead, so anything you are able to give is still very welcome. Thank you so much.

Update: Hi everyone. We took Zoey for a pre-op CT scan yesterday. Thank goodness we did, because the problem isn't her salivary glands. It's her lymph nodes, and some kind of mass in her chest. They took some samples and sent them off for testing. It could be cancer, or it could just be an issue of removing the mass. So now we wait. We should get the results in a couple days.

Vet bills are piling up, and we can still use all the help we can get. Thank you so, so much.

The funds will be exclusively used to pay for the surgery and the gofundme will be adjusted depending on the final total price.

Please donate and share if you can!

If you donate $100 or more, we'll name one of the glands after you.
