Ziggy's Fund to fight Cancer

Ziggys Medical Fund
My name is Melissa and I am fundraising  for my Uncle Ziggy; this is a picture of us on my wedding Day. He
has Been Diagnosed with  metastatic Stage 4 Prostate Cancer.
The Cancer is A-typical, aggressive, and has gone into the liver, groin lymph  area and is also growing into the bladder opening. He can no longer work due to multiple TURP surgeries and is starting chemotherapy.  Funds are needed so that he can pay for  further treatments. His current insurance does not cover the majority of the medical expences and medicine he needs, such as Lupron injections,  and part of his chemo.  Anything that can be contributed is so greatly appreciated.
Thank you kindly For your prayers

My name is Danielle, and I am Ziggy's grateful wife.  He is one of the most accepting, hard working and generous people I have ever known.  This is the first time since he was 12 years old that he hasn't worked.  He actually worked all through this process until January, 2018.  It was hard to get him to stop even though he was suffering!  He has worked in ministry for so long that he is lost without ability to help others daily.  That has hurt him emotionally.  He has worked in prison ministry, elder care ministry, youth ministry and telephone ministry for the lonely and house bound.  These were not ministries that solicited money from people; they just offered love and support.  HE offered love and support to anyone without regard to their history.  He was the person you called at 3:00am when you house flooded, when your car broke down hours away, if your kids needed a ride home from school, if you needed finacial assistance, a place to stay, do laundry, eat...If you can think of a need he was there to help.  He never used ministry as a way to display self righteous disdain for anyone.  No matter who you are, if you have met Ziggy, you have felt accepted.  He has a gift.  (And if you know him, you know he loves animals too, and has rescued many!)

At first, and still, I felt queasy about asking people for funding.  It's only because so many people explained to me that Go Fund Me is an accepted way for altruistic people to help each other that I finally caved!  Everyday is one more day we get bombarded with medical bills.  We have put off his chemo twice, and his Lupron injection once due to lack of funds.  If the lesion in his liver becomes any larger there will be no option for chemo at all due to lack of proper liver function.  He has to have a liver that isn't sick to be able to recieve treatment.  Thousands of people are experiencing this right now, not just us.  We can all pray for one another, and if you choose not to contibute here, please consider contributing to someone.  We are all on this earth together and we can help one another.   Everyone on here just wants their loved one to live.

As an aside, to those of you who are experiencing this too, we know that even the other expenses, not covered by insurance, such as internal, external catheters, depends, and pads add up.  Trying to buy healthy food as opposed to overly processed junk food; paying for gas to and from all of the doctor's appointsments that are not near your homes is just adding to the pressure.  We are there; we understand and we are praying for everyone!
Hi Everyone. My name is Jessica. My close friends (more like family) need help. Ziggy and Danielle have known me since I was 12 years old. (11? 12? It's the one thing I can't remember). My dad was looking for a church and took my brother Matt and me with him every weekend. He finally found one that resonated with him and we started attending regularly, even though it was far from where he lived. I remember feeling awkward walking in to yet another congregation where everyone seemed to know each other but us. I was soon approached by Ashley Linton and asked what my name was. I was SO shy and she probably thought I was weird but we got along. She introduced me to everyone in the youth group and I was so surprised by how cool everyone was. Cool with me being a stranger but also being a quiet stranger which can throw people off some times. They were all very accepting of me and no one forced religion on me. That was weird for a church, right?

The closer I became to all of these people, Caleb, Shawn, Casey, Gene, Kim, Keith, Ryan, Megan, Katie, the lovely Stefanie and more, I realized that there was something special here. It wasn't until several years later as I look back on these experiences that I realize how important Danielle (the youth group director) and Ziggy (an assistant pastor at the church) were as leaders. They were there for us no matter what we were going through. Today I am still friends with everyone from the youth group and cherish all the memories we've shared and are still making.

I used to call them 'Mom' and 'Dad' when I was younger. Now they are more like siblings. Ziggy and Danielle have shown me what a strong relationship looks like through their love for each other. I've watched them go through the ebbs and flows of life and they have watched me go through mine. These days it is really rough for them and it is hard to watch and not feel helpless.

Ziggy is the type of person that will mow your lawn and walk your dog and check your mail because he knew it needed to be done. Danielle is the type of person that will laugh with you, cry with you, and make sure that it's never awkward. Together they are an amazing couple that will make you dinner, put a blanket over you when you pass out on their couch with their dog, and make you breakfast in the morning.

I remember my dad used to feel bad that I would stay at their house over the weekend and they'd refuse money from him when he tried to pitch in for food or a movie. He'd hide the money in Danielle's purse or on the table and they would hide it back in my purse. These are not self serving people. They are selfless, good people that I love and consider family. Please help, whether that means donating or liking and sharing this post.
