Our sweet Zeus has been showing signs of discomfort for a little while now, and we decided we better take him to the doc. We dropped him off in the morning to be sedated for the x-rays of his hips and knees, hoping for the best.
No such luck.
His hips looked good, but his knees told a different story. Lots of swelling and fluid in the joint. Blown ACLs in both. Poor baby must be in so much more pain than he is showing.
When we adopted him from 4 Luv of Dog Rescue, we made a commitment to take care of him for his lifetime. He is only 2. We have to give him a chance to run and play some more.
There are several types of surgeries that can be done. For a dog of his size (85 lbs) there are two that are most effective. We would like to do the TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). The cost is high (about $2800 per leg) and the recovery is long (12 weeks to 6 months), but with your help we can fix him.
If we raise more than his bills, we will donate it to 4 Luv of Dog so they can save more pups like ours.
Thank You!
Stacey & Julie
