My husband, Zachary, and I have known each other for 35 years and just celebrated our 8 year anniversary. He was my best friend and soul mate. For the past three years, we have been homeless, living in a tent, and facing many challenges together. Zachary was in a wheelchair due to medical issues with his legs, which made life even more difficult for us. Despite everything, he always kept a positive attitude and was loved by everyone who met him.

On Monday, June 15th, 2026, tragedy struck when Zachary was hit by an Amtrak train. His wheel got stuck in the track at the crossing, and the train was unable to stop in time. I was told that the crossing lights and lever malfunctioned and never came down to warn that a train was approaching. Losing Zachary has left me heartbroken and struggling to find a way forward.

The funds raised will help cover his final expenses and hopefully give me the chance to grieve and get back on my feet so I can return home to our two young children. Paying for anything is going to be an issue, given our situation. I am grateful for any type of help. Zack was always smiling and would go out of his way to help others, even if it meant giving the shirt off his back. Your support, whether through donations, sharing this fundraiser, or kind words, means the world to me right now.
