Help an Institute seminarian cover seminary costs

Greetings!

My name is Abbé Zachary Hamar, and I am a seminarian with the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, a Society of Apostolic Life founded under the auspices of the Holy See in 1990 to promote the honor of God and the sanctification of priests for the good of the Church and of souls. I am in the midst of my formation at the Institute’s international seminary outside of Florence, Italy, in my second year of a seven-year course of formation. This past July, with the completion of my first year, I received the cassock and was tonsured. At the end of my formation, God willing, I will be ordained a priest to serve God and the Church in the Institute.

Like any organization, the Institute needs material resources to pursue its mission, and asks its seminarians to help defray the costs of their formation, costs incurred by the need for books, liturgical implements, etc., in addition to the usual overhead costs for things like food and heating. I humbly ask you to consider helping me to raise the money I need to cover the costs of my formation and to help continue the work of the seminary. To do so would be a great boon to me, and an even greater boon to a donor: for money given to further the formation of a future priest—a man who can, by his power to offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, render infinite glory to God—such money is given in a certain way to God Himself, and entails the donor to a participation in the immense blessings which the Almighty God is pleased to pour upon His priests. If Christian charity of any description will receive an eternal reward, as we know it surely will, so much more will charity toward a priest be rewarded. The Christian can be assured, therefore, that money such gifted will be very well spent.

So I appeal to your charity, and promise my gratitude for whatever contribution you might be able to make. I promise too my continual prayers: the seminarians pray communally for our benefactors each week, and in addition I will be sure to commend to God all my benefactors in my private prayer, principally at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Please pray for me, as well, as I undertake this journey for God.
