Yusupha Mbye Surgical Fund
Donation protected
Wheelchair bound since April 2000, when Gambian President Yayha Jammeh ordered security forces to fire on peacefully protesting students. 14 students were killed, many seriously injured. The past 2 years, with the help of concerned Gambians, Yusupha Mbye has been recieving intensive therapy in Dakar, Senegal. Yus is able to sit unaided for the first time in 15 years and doctors are confident that he can improve and regain some function with surgical intervention. Due to the complicated nature of his condition, and the limited medical infrastructure in Senegal, Yus must seek further treatment in the West. Please help support him move to the next phase of his treatment, and regain the life he has lost the past 16 years.
