Lyme Treatment in Florida for Doug (&Brenda) Yaple
Donation protected
Our dad, Doug Yaple, has suffered from Lyme Disease (and other tick-borne illnesses) for 20+ years but was not diagnosed until 2017.
After 3+ years of antibiotics, countless supplements, an incredibly strict diet (which he has literally never cheated on), various therapies, and multiple physicians (which are not covered by insurance), he is still not well.
This may be surprising to many of you, since he has spent most of his life as an athlete, coach, and fit man. But much of the past few years he has been weak and even frail. He suffers from brain fog, fatigue, sleeplessness, joint pain and stiffness, dizziness, neurological symptoms, and more. He cannot perform some basic movements needed for activities of daily living, such as lifting his hands over his head.
At a recent appointment, labwork disturbingly revealed that Dad’s bloodstream is loaded with toxins. Things like BPA, DDA, phthalates, and mycotoxins (i.e. mold) are 5 to 300 times the acceptable limit. A normal, healthy body filters these things. Dad’s body is clearly not functioning in a normal way; this is stressing his system even further.
Recently, our family learned about LifeWorks Wellness Center in Clearwater, Florida from a married couple that’s family of family. After suffering from Lyme and toxin overload, both of them have experienced healing and an improved quality of life after treatment. Dad has been accepted into this facility.
Mom (Brenda Yaple) and Dad will be traveling to Clearwater in December for a consult. From there, a plan/timeline will be developed. Tentatively, Mom and Dad are planning a “move” to Florida for 2+ months in January, where he will receive continual outpatient treatment. Treatment itself will cost thousands ($10,000+). There will be travel and lodging expenses in December, as well as January. Our parents have been looking into buying a camper (with the hope to re-sell after treatment) to make the winter stay in Florida more affordable.
As daughters, this is one of the most difficult things we’ve ever had to do. We know our parents would not want us to ask the community for help, but we also know they need it. From youth ministry to caring for the elderly, Mom has touched hundreds (if not thousands) of families. From coaching football to being a caring manager, Dad has done the same. Because of their broad impact in our community, we truly believe that $1-$10 donations will add up to make a HUGE difference during this difficult time.
What has saved Dad’s life for the last 20 years is the fact that he has KEPT GOING. Had he given into the pain and exhaustion, like many people do, we might not have him here today. We are not ready to give up, and neither his he. We are hopeful and prayerful about the opportunity we’ve found in LifeWorks.
Thank you, in advance, for your prayers and your contributions.
