Xaviers Space Camp USA fundraiser

My Name is Xavier Williams-Byers, I am 12 years old and in year 6 at Holy Trinity Primary School.

This year I have been lucky enough to have received an invite to the Space Camp 2020 in in Huntsville, Alabama USA from September 30th- October 12th, 2020.

I am very excited and proud to have been asked to attend this program as I am a very proud Wiradjuri/Gamilaroi man who is honoured to be able to see the wonders of the Space Station and what is involved in going into space and through the galaxy. I would like to share the ancient bloodlines of my people through our stories in the sky.

I have been given this opportunity due to my academic achievements and the results of the NAPLAN assessments during the last 12 months.

I am writing this letter to request any support that you and your organisation may be able to provide myself to help towards the costs of this once in a lifetime opportunity.

I am trying to raise funds for myself and my chaperone, Lee Williams, My Grandmother. My Grandmother will accompany me to the USA as my Chaperone as I have never left NSW and my Ninny has never been outside of Australia, I would like to share my journey with her also.

The costs involved are approx. $7,500 per attendee which will cover travel and flights to the USA, accommodation, entry to the Space Camp in Alabama and activities that we will undertake with the One Giant Leap Foundation who have extended this Invitation.
