I'm summoning my courage to ask for your help in reaching a long cherished dream...
The Amherst Writers & Artists (AWA) Method
is a unique approach to supporting and encouraging writers, originated by Pat Schneider, a writer, poet, and teacher based in Amherst, Massachusetts. Her book, Writing Alone and With Others has been a great source of inspiration for me as a writer and a writing teacher. I've used her methods with great success in many workshops.
Some of you have taken my workshops and know what a wonderful experience we create together. This summer, I want to take my teaching to a new level by taking the 5-day AWA training for writing teachers and getting certified in the AWA method. I'm asking for your support to do so. Some of you know I have a significant birthday in July -- your help is the best gift I could receive.
Any amount is appreciated, any amount will help. The tuition, room, and board for the workshop is $2,000. Travel to and from the workshop in Northern California accounts for the additional amount I hope to raise. Any amount beyond that will be donated to VoiceFlame.
