Women Unbound Series Fund
Donation protected
Hello everyone, WE NEED YOUR HELP to fund the extras for our Women Unbound events! Join Our 400 for $5.00 Campaign and help support our community based poetry and spoken word dedicated venue in Toledo, Ohio!
Our 400 for $5.00 Campaign means that if we had 400 of our wonderful supporters and followers on Facebook/Twitter donate at least $5.00 to us we would be fully funded for programming through 2015!
Women Unbound was created in August 2013 by Lorraine Cipriano and Kayla Williams, two local poets living in the Toledo, Ohio area. This project is an ongoing literary series, at the Sanger Branch of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library in Toledo, OH, showcasing the work of women writers from or now living in NW Ohio/SE Michigan in an effort to encourage more women to have their voices heard. Our hope is to create a space where women and men feel comfortable discussing topics such as how we view women in our society and how expectations associated with gender influence and affect our individual identity. Another goal of the program is to get local female authors on the library shelves.
Every donation received will go towards getting refreshments and small gifts for participants. The events are held on the first Saturday of the month (every other month) from 2:00-4:00 pm. Every event is totally free and open to the public.
We do not currently have any funding sources so the money used through Go Fund Me is desperately needed and will go towards empowering women in the NW Ohio/SE Michigan area by funding our efforts! Thank you so much for any amount that you are able to donate-we appreciate it!
