It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Emily Hauner. After spending several days in the hospital and undergoing extensive, trial-and-error treatments, the medical expenses quickly added up. Despite every effort made, she passed away far too soon.
She leaves behind her 21-year-old son, 25-year-old daughter, and a devoted husband who are now grieving this sudden and painful loss. In addition to mourning, they are now faced with the financial burden of funeral and cremation costs.

Emily had epilepsy for 20+ years, and it had started not too long after having her second child in 2004. From then, it progressively had gotten worse. The start of 2023, Emily started to have severe excruciating pain in both legs, which prevented her from walking which made her bed ridden—though the doctors never diagnosed the issue after countless studies and tests. Throughout this difficult period, Emily’s husband Roland and their children became her full-time caregivers—helping her with every basic need, from meals and medication to bathing and mobility—all while also working full-time jobs. Despite being hardworking and dedicated in their careers, they still made Emily their top priority, sacrificing time, rest, and energy to care for her around the clock. Emily, who was on disability, also endured significant weight loss due to the toll of her epilepsy medication. Roland eventually made the difficult decision to retire early in order to care for her full-time.
The day after mother’s day, May 11th 2025 at 6:30 AM, Emily was admitted to the emergency room. Roland had found her unresponsive while he was checking to see if she had taken her morning medication. Roland had woken up Trevor to get the truck, while Roland had to grab and pick up Emily to take her to the emergency room. She was then admitted to the ICU for almost a month.
Amanda, Trevor, and Roland stayed by her side every single day while Emily was in the ICU, praying and hoping for answers as to what had happened to their mom and wife. During that stay, the neurologists had 24 hour EEG monitoring and had put her on sedatives due to high brain activity. The doctors believed she suffered a seizure due to the unbearable pain from her legs. 4 days after, Emily was allergic to one of the sedatives she was prescribed by the neurologist, Propofol, which caused her to suffer from Propofol Infusion Syndrome (PRIS)—led to her being on dialysis. Emily was losing her primal organs, and it was slowly deteriorating into her body.
May 28th 2025, the last day she was on this earth, we were able to have a priest come in to her room, to anointing of the sick and baptized before we had to let her go. It was the most painful and longest 2 minutes of our lives, and we watched her slip away. Emily was surrounded by her family, her mother, her siblings, and nieces and nephews.
