On August 23, my cousin Brooke Winston and her husband Damon Winston — including 10 children, 2 grandchildren, along with her husband Damon and herself Brooke — lost their home in a devastating townhouse fire in Fishers. Brooke and her husband also support a child newly in college . This is the only official GoFundMe for the Winston family; donations here will go directly to them to cover housing, essentials, counseling, and help replace lost income as they rebuild their lives.

Hi everyone, my name is Ashley-Marie Hudgins, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin, Brooke Winston, and her family.

On August 23, Brooke’s townhouse on Gatsby Drive in Fishers was destroyed by an electrical fire. While the family wasn’t home when it happened, their lives changed forever that night. Heartbreakingly, two beloved pets — their cat and lizard — did not survive, though firefighters were able to rescue their dog. Their home is now unlivable, their belongings gone, and the family is displaced, trying to piece their lives back together.

Brooke’s and Damon household is large and full of love — with 10 children and 2 grandchildren living in the home full-time, plus one child in college whom they continue to support. This tragedy has left them not only without a home but also without the stability and income needed to care for so many lives depending on them.

Important note: Sadly, others are attempting to profit from this tragedy with fraudulent fundraisers. This is the only official GoFundMe for the Winston family. I will provide regular updates and receipts to show exactly how funds are being used — including temporary housing, food, clothing, school needs, college support, and professional counseling for the family, which is essential for healing.
