WINE & HOTDOGS is a new play making its professional debut at Brighton Fringe 2023.

“Bro, sometimes no doesn’t always mean no, sometimes it just means try

a bit harder”

Terry and Amy meet at a rave. Terry wants to be a rapper more than

anything, Amy loves Thomas Hardy and is head of the debate team. Two

kids from different worlds, who find they fit together in ways no one would

expect. Kind of like Wine and Hotdogs right?

WINE & HOTDOGS is a new play by Dead Poets Theatre, due to make its professional debut in 2023. Joyous, tragic and brutally honest, W&H combines spoken word, music, physical theatre and a RAVE, in a comedy-drama that explores the shit show of being sixteen, falling in love and baring your soul for the first time while doing some important digging into sexual abuse within young relationships and the psychological effects on both the victim and the perpetrator.

We are buzzing to announce that our original play 'Wine & Hotdogs' has been accepted into the Brighton Fringe festival and will debut at Rotunda Theatre on 25-27th May but we can't do this without your help!

We are Jacki and Sophie and we are DEAD POETS THEATRE!

We began acting and writing together at EAST 15 where we realised we both shared a passion for stories that explore hard truths and social justice. Over the last year, we have been tirelessly researching, brainstorming, workshopping, and of course, writing lots and lots of poetry which has formed the base for our first joint piece of original writing. It's very close to out hearts and we are super excited to transform it from page to stage.

To put it bluntly, putting on theatre is FUCKING SPENNY, and we can't do it without your help. Every little really does help so please, if you can, send this to friends, family, and anyone that loves the arts and would like to support new writing!

Rehearsal Space £600

Costumes costs - £100

Set costs - £100

Accommodation - £450

Marketing - £100

X2 free Matinee performances (for the kidz) - £240

Wages for 10x days of rehearsals for X4 Actors. - Whatever is left ( Equity minimum equates to £3952, but hey ho we're artists innit)
