To help Will in his fight with rare cancer
Donation protected
My son William has been fighting a rare and aggressive cancer for over three and a half years. This could be his last chance to beat this disease and I’m raising money to help pay for specialist immunotherapy treatment in Mexico
UPDATE 14 Oct: We are now so close to the original target and incredibly grateful to all those who have donated so far. Your support means we have a good chance to get Will to Mexico and start treatment in November this year.
Treatment as revolutionary as this is expensive - but it gives us real hope in giving our son a chance at life. There may be additional costs ahead, over and above the initial £60k GoFundMe target; but your donations will make a huge difference and get us started on the road to treat Will.
If you haven’t donated, it would be wonderful if you could help him by donating or passing this onto anyone who might want to donate.
About Will
Will has been battling cancer since he was 16. While he’s missed out on the normal teenage life, he's still a positive, kind and often inspiring young man who just wants to live a normal life.
The last three years has been a roller coaster for Will and us all. We thought he had beaten it twice but sadly the cancer is back for a third time and we are running out of options and time.
The latest treatment and drug combination seemed to be working. However, more recently the cancer has started to progress again.
While Will's oncology team at the Royal Marsden are working hard to hold it back with alternative chemo / radiotherapy combinations, we are now looking at combining this with new and cutting edge immunotherapy treatments via a specialist clinic in Mexico. The team at the Marsden are fully supportive of this approach and helping us in early consultations with this clinic. The clinic's approaches to cancer treatment are showing real promise for patients in Will's condition.
Unfortunately, these immunotherapy treatments are very expensive, (We now have the final treatment plan from the clinic and it is in excess of $106,000), so we need to raise money to get Will enrolled.
Please donate whatever you can, every little helps. Your donation will mean the world to us and gives Will a fighting chance to have a life.
Sponsored walk
In late August, my brother and I walked 179km, over 8 days to raise money for Will’s cancer treatments. The route we took is 'The Thames Path' that starts near Kemble in Gloucestershire and ends at Henly on Thames. We managed to raise over £20,000 from the walk
Please donate anything you can to help Will in his ongoing fight with cancer
