Willow Needs Help for Her Surgeries!

Donation protected
Hi everyone! If you're close with us, you might know our dog Willow. If you don't, it's probably because she's really afraid of strangers (mom always told me stranger danger haha). Once you get to know her, she's actually the sweetest girl you've ever met. Willow was rescued by Jordan from a foster organization called “Last Hope”. We think we have provided her so much hope, she's just had a really rough start to life. Our puppers is only 1.8 years old. One night she came inside and refused to put any weight on her back left leg. We hardly got sleep and decided to bring her to the vet. We found out that she has a condition called "Luxating Patella". This can be very painful for her and requires immediate attention.

What is Luxating Patella? “Medial patella luxation is a condition where the patella (knee-cap) does not stay in its normal position in the groove on the end of the femur (thigh bone) and will pop-out, or luxate, to the medial (inside) surface of the knee.” (VSC) Willow has what is called a Grade 3 on the scale from 1 to 4. A Grade 3 is when: “the patella is luxated at most times but can still be replaced manually into the groove.” (VSC) We have the first surgery scheduled for May 12th and we think she is more excited than we are! Currently Willow is not able to do any major activities. She can only have a short walk each day and not much else. We are forced to calm her if she gets excited, carry her up the stairs or onto furniture. She does not have much of a puppy life like we would want her to.

Willow is currently on Carprofen which is supposed to help with the inflammation in her knees. Unfortunately, it does not take all of the pain away, which is why we are working so hard to get the funds and resources to make this surgery happen. She deserves the happiest life!

Willow needs surgery on both legs, and each surgery is over $2,000. Not to mention the post-surgery costs, with the potential of needing physical therapy.  Needless to say, the vet bills have already begun racking up. Willow is just the happiest and most affectionate dog, and we want to make sure she gets the absolute best care. Any amount helps, even if it's just a dollar or two or even sharing this post means the world. Thanks so much in advance. Much love.
